“I decided to pursue my career in medicine after having been exposed to foot and ankle biomechanics while making custom insoles as a ski boot fitter. After spending time with a Podiatrist, I knew this medical specialty was a perfect fit. I enjoy the diversity within the profession that offers me the ability to work in sports medicine as well as perform surgery and in- office procedures. The breadth of the profession keeps me excited about the many approaches available for treating my patients.”
– Dr. Carlis
Dr. Carlis’ goal is to develop an individualized treatment plan based on each patient’s unique needs. Whether you like to run marathons, play team sports, work out in the gym, or walk your dog around the neighborhood, Dr. Carlis recognizes that an injury can be a disruption to your physical and mental health and will work with you to return to your activities as quickly as possible.
“I enjoy taking the time to listen to my patients to better understand how their condition affects their daily lives. As a former competitive athlete who has suffered injuries, I bring my life experience into my practice. I focus on conservative treatments first and use my surgical training when necessary.”
